  1. How to effectively demand a raise Have you ever thought of asking for a raise in your job? If not, then it might surprise me, how come no one has ever asked for whatever they deserve. If you have been performing consistently then it is your reward to be promoted or get a bonus. If you are thinking of asking for a raise, you might be nervous as you do not know how it is going to turn out. The result depends on the manager, how they see your achievements and how well they understand your efforts within a team. However, whenever we talk about money in IT professionals, it seems like a horror story or that we have seen a ghost. Thus, it becomes a little difficult for us to ask for a raise or to talk about it, as it is considered a taboo in our professional life and makes us uncomfortable. But asking is the only chance that you might get some positive results. If you are doing it for the first and want a positive result then might prepare a strategy and points that you can present to ask for the deserved raise. In this article, we have mentioned some of the points that you can consider and strategize accordingly to get the maximum output. 1. First, decide when to ask for a raise First, you need to understand that there is nothing to be nervous about as it is very normal that you ask for a deserved raise. Also, the manager has experience in handling employees and dealing with all the project’s budget, so they have a clear picture of the budget. Even if the manager knows about your effort and hard work, they will not themselves increase or revise your compensation. Rather, they will feel that this employee is happy whatever they are getting. However, such information is hard to get as salaries may vary depending on the importance of that role in various companies. What to do during the meeting Without moving the story, make sure you get to the direct point with accurate facts and figures. Write down points main points that you want to discuss, about your work, your achievements, how well you have been doing, having everything ready will make you more confident. This will create a positive impact on the manager that you are well prepared and are to the point. Also, ensure you use the right tone without creating a fuss. Try to understand their point and discuss clearly. Always, start with a clear note appreciating the manager for taking out some time to hear them out. This will create an impression and the manager will act as soon as possible once they understand your point of asking for the raise. Also, have some figures in mind so you can suggest to them about your expectations and that figure needs to be relevant, else manager will say a “NO” then and there.
