  4. This course is designed to enhance the students’ academic language skills to be successful in U.S. college courses. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to… What are your goals? What oral communication skills do you need to achieve them?

Speak with sufficient accuracy, fluency, and intelligibility to ensure comprehension in academic situations (AWL) • Demonstrate the ability to deliver presentations in classroom settings and explain and support opinions • Paraphrase basic information or opinions from original sources and credit the source • Take notes during instructor lectures and student presentations and summarize the content. The student will use notes for academic tasks such as preparing for examinations. • Interpret and present graphic information with sufficient accuracy Course goals and objectives
