  2. What will I study? • In  A Level Accounting course you'll start with the basics, looking at the role of accounting in business. You'll study the general processes of accounting, such as ledgers, balance sheets and income statements, and learn the difference between financial and management accounting. A2 Paper 1 3 hours 50% Paper 2 3 hours 50%

Why study accounts • Excellent Job prospects, all newly qualified accountants find it easy to get work • Can assist in any career in industry whether you are going into quantity surveying or business management its an excellent A-level to have. • No matter what profession you enter, once you progress up the ranks of the organisation you will assume responsibility for budgets and management of finance an AS in accounting with provide you with invaluable experience. • Any student taking on A-Level Business Studies it is an excellent AS as half the content two modules in this A-level contain accounting questions. • Video Clip

Do I have an aptitude for the subject? • A genuine interest in the business world and the financial aspects of business will lay a foundation for studying Accounting at 'A' level. • The subject will appeal to students who have sound numeracy skills and a reasonable standard of written English, who can grasp and apply concepts and rules. • You should enjoy not only the mechanical and computational aspects of the subject, but also the opportunity to be analytical, to consider alternatives and make recommendations based on their calculations. • At least a grade B in GCSE Maths at higher level and English will be essential. No previous knowledge of accounts in required.
