Why? • Unemployment rate for Veterans is over 20% • 70% of all Veterans will drop out in first year • Homeless Rate increasing • Veterans with PTS and TBI is increasing • An average of 22 veterans are lost per day to suicide – more than were killed in wars over past 10 years • To Encourage and Support

Organizational Limitations • Language Barriers • Veterans speak in Military terms • HR Departments are not familiar with “Military Speak” • Recruiting Veterans • Job Fairs – Effective but challenging • Locations • Veterans aren’t always prepared (resume, dress, interview skills) • Communication • Social Media • Websites

What can you do to help? • Partner with Operation Welcome Home to: • Serve as the First Line of Defense for Veterans • Establish relationships with Educational Institutions through Veterans Advocates/Groups and CamoToCap • Assist veterans to apply and succeed in the oil and gas industry • Provide training to oil and gas employers to become more sensitized to veterans
