  1. Comenius project “English language integration in the pree - school game lessons”

  2. Theatre Day

  3. Objective: • To create positive emotions and joy. Promote speech, imagination and creativity and English integration

  4. Group 1 • With the play «Flower ball» children invited spring with help of flower fairies and various insects they played.The fairies were speaking English and everyone was singing in English.

  5. 2. Grupa • Group 2 with their play « Kukulītis»

  6. 9.Grupa • Group 9 with the play «Under the mushroom» demonstrated English through the reating own decorations and integrated the song «Rain, rain go away» into the play.

  7. Group 3 • Group 3 presented « Travels of Pippi Longstocking». It was a very colourful play thanks to parents creativity in making costumes. This play was staged in two parts – the first part was played in Latvian, but in the second part children demonstrated their English through songs and parts of the text.

  8. Group 8 • The play «Our Hubert» included both English and Latvian texts.

  9. Group 4 • Group 4 presented the story of betrayal, compassion, joy of discovery and our uniqueness in their chosen play «The princess and the frog».

  10. Group 7 • In honour of Latvian story maker and illustrator Margarita Stāraste 100 year anniversary Group 7 directed the play «Tince wants to learn». In this play Tince did not want to learn herself, but to teach others and included songs in English.

  11. Group 10 • Group 10 created 3 houses – APPLE, MUSHROOM and ICECREAM – in their play «Bongo is visiting». Each house had its own colour and children were wearing cooresponding colour clothes and were executing various tasks asked by the dog Bingo and sang in English.

  12. Groups 5, 6,11 (2 – 3 year old children) • Group 5 played traditional Latvian story "Zaķīšupirtiņa" – everyone, like the rabbits in the story, went through the forest to the sauna house and in conclusion of the story performed English song "Toys". • Group 6 performed play about clouds "Mākonītis un mākonīte" helping the sun to wake up and give everyone its warmth and games. • Group 11 with their play «In the forest» demonstrated that real festivities are only happening whgen we all are togetehr.

  13. Results • Improved ability to speak in public; • Improved motor coordination and sense of rhythm; • Focuses on the creation of expressive speech, expanding vocabulary in both English and Latvian
