General Reminders Do Do Not Share your password(s) with other teachers Leave computers on overnite Logon as a student Lock student computers with your logon Save teacher documents on student H: drive • Change your password(s) frequently • Turn on classroom computers every day • Logon using your personal login information • Log off when you are finished using a computer • Create folders on student H: drive for student projects

  3. Laptop Carts • Placed at Victory in anticipation of online testing • “On loan” from the IT department and can be recalled as needed • Teachers will be allowed to check them out during periods when there is no testing going on.

  4. Laptop Carts - 2 • Connecting New Carts • Plug the internet cord into the internet jack in the wall. DO NOT touch the Wireless Access Point. • Plug the electric cord into the electric outlet • Flip the power switch up so that the WAP gets power. • When not in use, plug in and flip power switch down • Be careful about the plugs on the laptops

  5. Laptop Checkout Procedures • Reserve the cart with Media Specialist by the day before you will need it. • Teachers are limited to 3 consecutive days with a cart. • Teachers must pick up/drop off the cart. • Carts must be returned EVERY day by 3:30. • Do not “lend” any laptops out while you have the cart. • Report problems with laptops when you hand the cart in.

When You Have The Cart • Use the student usage record to record which student used which laptop • Make sure students are careful with the equipment. • Make sure that the laptops are put back in the appropriately labeled slot. • Make sure the laptops have been shut down, otherwise batteries will be ruined. • Make sure laptops are plugged in or they will not charge for the next person.

  7. WARNINGS • If the carts are mistreated they will be removed • Teachers who do not return carts in a timely way (by 3:30pm – returned by a staff member not a student) will have future sign out time restricted • Teachers who do not report laptop issues when returning the cart will have future sign out time restricted
