PRE-MATCH RESPONSIBILITIES • Important timing: • 20 minutes before match start: scorer arrives • 10 minutes before match start: receive rosters • 2 minutes before set 1 starts: receive and enter lineups on scoresheet • 1 minute before each subsequent set starts: receive and enter lineups on scoresheet

IN-MATCH RESPONSIBILITIES See p. 24-25 of Rule Book (Rule 5.6) • Record scoring • Verify the serving order of each team and monitor for correct server (notify R2 when incorrect) • Keep record of time-outs used • Record in comments section: • Warnings, penalties, disqualifications due to unsporting conduct • Uniform/equipment violations • Removal of player due to suspected concussion • Exceptional substitutions

  5. IN-MATCH RESPONSIBILITIES • Substitutions – Tell the R2: 1. when a team takes the 15th, 16th,17th & 18th substitution 2. if a team requests a 19th substitution 3. wrong position entry 4. a disqualified player attempts to re-enter 5. re-entry of an injured/ill player during the same set (when the player was replaced by an exceptional sub) 6. player not listed on roster

  6. IN-MATCH RESPONSIBILITIES • Do not count an illegal substitution as one of the 18 allowable substitutions. • An exceptional substitution is counted as a substitution only if a team has not used all of its 18 allowable substitutions. • Notify the R2 when a team reaches set or match point.

  7. SCORING MATERIALS The following scorekeeping materials can be found on the EOA website www.evoa.com: • Scoresheets • Libero Tracking Sheets • Line-up Sheets Also Bring: Pen(blueorblackink) Pen(red ink) White-out or correction tape Watch (for recording beginning/ending times)

  10. SAMPLE SET • The information on the next slide should be entered on the score sheet as soon as possible before the match • For subsequent sets, start time can be recorded as 3 minutes from the end time for the previous set.

  48. EXCEPTIONAL SUBSTITUTIONS • Injured/ill player • Team has used 18 subs already OR • No legal substitute is available (i.e. all bench players have already played in other serving positions) If the team hasn’t used 18 subs, the exceptional sub counts as one of the 18.
