International forums • Meetings preceiving the adoption of the Aarhus Convention and within its implementation period, i.e. • Ministerial conference in Belgrade • Conferences in Sofia and Lucca • MoP in Riga • Etc. • 1999 London Conference on “Environment and Health” • Conference of Johannesburg • Preparation of the second national implementation report of the Aarhus Convention • 2008 CEMAT conference in Yerevan on Landscape planning • 2009 Tbilisi workshop on Transboundary Water Resources

  3. PPIF is the next stage of public participation on national level as it provides opportunity to introduce complex approach of the party.

Good practicepreparation of the second national implementation report of the Aarhus convention • Wide involvement of the public and inviting commentaries from all stakeholders, i.e. (NGOs, experts, individual citizens, business etc.) • Round-table conferences, discussions, work meetings Result: Agreed upon and concerted National report

  7. Actions to be undertaken • Organization of training sessions for civil servants, the Coordinators of ACs and NGOs on application of Almaty Guidelines • Elaboration of unified procedural rules with regard to enhancement of cooperation between public authority and the public within PPIF
