  2. What is Ovarian Cystectomy? Ovarian Cystectomy is the removal of a fluid-filled sac in the ovary. Cystectomy on the ovaries is very common. Most ovarian Cystectomies are benign (non-cancerous), but some are cancerous, or may become cancerous over time.
