  5. Citation Purpose: • Give credit • Provide credibility to your ideas • Let readers find your sources

Citation Major Styles: • Modern Language Association (“MLA”) Humanities (English, Spanish, French, Art) • American Psychological Association (“APA”) Sciences and Social Sciences (Psychology, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Nursing) • Chicago Manual of Style/Kate Turabian (“Chicago/Turabian”) Different disciplines use Chicago and Turabian

  8. Parenthetical In-Text Citation A citation placed in the body of the text, at the end of a sentence.

  9. Endnotes A citation or explanatory note placed at the end of a paper or chapter.

  10. Footnotes A citation or explanatory note placed at the bottom of a page.

  11. Bibliography/References/Works Cited The list of books, journal articles, newspaper articles, videos, and other sources you consulted to write the paper.
