  1. Registering for MasteringChemistryTM www.masteringchemistry.com

  2. Go to www.masteringchemistry.com Click “New Students”

  3. Answer the question: “Do you have an access code?” Select: “Yes, I have an access code” if you purchased a text with a code. “No, I need to purchase access online now” if you do not have a code. Click “Continue” Click “Continue”

  4. If you selected “No, I need to purchase access online now”, then… Click “Outside U.S. & Canada” Mouse over titles and click on your textbook cover

  5. Optional: Some texts come with eBooks. Select either “Yes” or “No” if you wish to purchase access to the eBook at this time. You can upgrade to an eBook later. Price will be shown before purchase Click “Continue”

  6. 5. Read the License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Click “I Accept”

  7. Select: “No, I am a New User” if this is your first Pearson product. “Yes, Look Me Up” if you already have another Pearson account. Enter your unique Access Code. Enter your Zip or Postal Code and Country. Click “Next”

  8. Enter First Name, Last Name and E-mail Address. Enter School Name, School City, School State. Scroll down the page.

  9. Create a Login Name and Password. Confirm Password. Select a Security Question and answer it. Click “Next”

  10. Congratulations! You have successfully created a Login and Password. Next click “Log In Now”

  11. Enter your Login Name and Password. Click “Log In”

  12. Some books contain a Study Area. If you don’t have a Course ID, click “Go to Study Area”.

  13. Study Area Only: If you don’t have a Course ID, you can use the Study Area activities. You can Join a Course later if your instructor gives you a Course ID.

  14. If your instructor has given you a Course ID and instructions for entering a Student ID, then enter the Student ID and Course ID information. Click “Save” and “OK”

  16. See “Constants,” “Tools,” and “Help”

  17. Click “Assignment List” to view instructor assignments. (Applies if you received a Course ID).

  18. Click “Introduction to MasteringChemistry” to learn how to use the program.

  19. These items will explain how to navigate in the program, how to input answer types, and how you can expect to be graded. Click “Welcome!”

  20. Read the question and answer all the parts as instructed.
