  1. Ways to Remove Perspiration Stains

  2. Perspiration contains fats, oils, and cholesterol which tend to oxidize and turn yellow. This slow, progressive process develops with age and with the heat that is necessary in finishing procedures. Perspiration stains are difficult to remove. First, treat with a volatile dry solvent and oily-type paint remover. If the garment is not silk or wool, flush with detergent and ammonia. Finally, wet-clean with three percent hydrogen peroxide bleach. Wet cleaning is not safe for all garments. Color transfer, color loss, shrinkage, or texture change may occur in dry cleanable items. Discuss these potential problems with your customer and obtain their consent before wet cleaning the garment.
