    1. ERTMS Strategy for the deployment of ERTMS, towards the implementation of version 3.0.0.

    2. 2 Corridor A is by far the most heavily utilised rail freight axis in Europe – ERTMS is required for seamless cross-border rail traffic

    3. 3 Different deployment solutions for ETCS allow the consideration of existing infrastructure as well as required operation conditions

    4. 4 Baseline 3 consitutes the most economical and compatible ETCS deployment concept from both trackside and vehicle perspective

    5. 5 According to existing infrastructure and capacity / speed require- ments, Corridor A infrastructure managers opted for Baseline 3

    6. 6 Approximately 30% of the German part of Corridor A are planned to be equipped with ETCS L1LS

    7. 7 The cost differential achievable by applying ETCS L1 LS to part of the German segmant of Corridor A amounts to app. 500 – 600 Mill. Euro

    8. 8 In order to ensure the overall timeline on Corridor A, a resolute course of action will be followed for the German part

    12. 12 Realising ETCS trackside installations based on SRS 3.0.0 reduces necessary investments for Corridor A by approximately 620 m€
