  1. COPS MAY 2014 UPDATE TO TAC 5/29/2014 Harika Basaran, Chair Tony Marsh, Vice Chair

  2. COPS MAJOR DISCUSSION ITEMS • 867_03 Data Loading Time Line Changes and Error Code Changes • ERCOT saw an opportunity to extend the time allowed for MPs submit their IDR meter data so that it can be used in Initial settlement. Instead of running the batch at 3 am, they will run it at 1 pm. Will be implemented with Settlement Upgrade project ( December 7, 2014). • This will help entities like Brazos and LCRA with remote IDR meters. • COPS endorsed this change unanimously. • Market Enhancements and ORDC Loads in SCED • ERCOT completed 4 training sessions and one specific to CSWG. • If adder is zero, calculated amounts won’t be pushed in Extracts. • But SID (Settlement Input Data, NOT approved ones, comes next day after the OD) extracts will have the inputs like HSL, discount factor etc.

  3. COPS MAJOR DISCUSSION ITEMS cont. • Settlement Systems Upgrade Project Update • Go live targeted 12/7/2014. Huge project to replace 3rd party software with in-house code. Currently in testing phase, NPRR 580 and 467 are part of this. • No impact on MPs are expected. • ERS settlement will still reside outside of the main settlement system and done by another group manually and then fed into settlement system. • NPRR570, Phase 2 Settlement Timeline Update (OD+5) • Implemented with OD 5/1/2014. • Neither ERCOT nor MPs have observed any issues so far. • Need to go through some long holidays. • CSWG/COPS will continue to monitor and report back to TAC.

  4. CSWG • Draft NPRR 628 - Notification of Financial Impact of Settlement Disputes • COPS endorsed it unanimously so that CSWG can file it officially. • Language for clarification and to match what ERCOT actually is doing. • CSWG submitted it on 5/21/14. • Will be on PRS agenda in June. • NPRR 618- Market Notices for Resettlement Statements and True-up Settlement Timeline Changes • This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) replaces requirements to post Notices on the Market Information System (MIS) for communication of Day-Ahead Market (DAM) and Real-Time Market (RTM) Resettlements and True-Up Settlement timeline changes with Market Notices. • MPs engaged in settlement do not use MIS for resettlements Notices and prefer e-mail Notices for timely communication. • COPS endorsed NPRR 618 unanimously and filed comments to PRS. • COPMGRR037 Market Notification for Ad Hoc Invoices and COPMG Cleanup also filed to revise COPMG accordingly.
