SAT is an acronym for Scholastic Assessment Test. It is taken by the students before the end of their high school or probably as soon as their high school ends. It is a fact that the SAT exam is the gateway to your respective dream colleges. Apart from all the entrance exams, this exam is conducted by the college board and is solely responsible for every step of the admission procedure. SAT Singapore being one of the top prep-institutions helps students master all four different sections of the SAT i.e. Reading, Maths, Writing & Language, Math (with a calculator), Maths (without a calculator) and the Essay which is optional. These institutes offer top-class SAT courses to the students which ultimately helps them in doing well in all sections of the SAT. However, in this blog, we will be talking particularly about different ways to score well in the writing test. So, continue reading!

  2. ACE THE WRITING TEST BY FOLLOWING THESE TIPS As I mentioned earlier there are five different sections in the SAT if you go for an essay as well. Having said that, you need to know that the writing test is the second most section of the SAT exam Singapore. You will be asked 44 different questions for which you'll be having 35 minutes. The writing section of the SAT is designed in a way to judge your effective language and grammar use. You need to be very quick while answering the questions because with that much less time you'll be having less than a minute per question. However, with a better strategy, it is very much possible to score high in the writing section. Yes, I'm not kidding, have a look at these tips. 1. KNOW GRAMMAR VERY WELL As an SAT taker, you should know that the writing test is all about judging your ability to answer effectively with the use of proper language and the right grammar. That's why it very necessary that you have every bit of knowledge about basic grammar, else you might be in trouble. To strengthen the basics of English grammar and language you can opt for SAT private tuition Singapore.

  3. You will not only know about grammar but the guidance of the private tutors is considered very fruitful from the exam point of view. 2. TRY TO ANSWER QUESTION AS YOU READ With less than 50 seconds per question, you don’t go into depth because it will cost you a lot of time. You need to practice finding answers as you start reading the questions during SAT preparation days. When you’re habituated of this you will find it very easy during the exam. Try to skim through the passage it will not only help you save a lot of time but will help you answer correctly and very quickly. 3. ANSWER SHOULD BE SUCCINCT AND VERY RELEVANT With different choices of answers to choose from, you might get pretty confusing in the writing section of the SAT exam and that happens a lot. A lot of options can distract you to go off-track, but you should stick to find the most relevant

  4. option. For this, you can try the elimination process and firstly eliminate the options which have no relevance with the given question. Students enrolled in the SAT course Singapore are taught about this technique and are coached to execute this method correctly to find the right answers. You’ll be left with a single option ultimately which will the most probable answer. 4. KNOW WHERE TO USE WHICH PUNCTUATION Writing is incomplete without the right punctuation. You need to learn where to use which punctuation. And, it matters a lot in the writing test of the SAT. You will be asked around two to three questions where you'll be judged about your punctuation knowledge. So, you need to make sure that you know where to use different punctuations like a comma, semicolon, dashes and many more. These are pretty tiny things but need a lot of learning to understand where to use them correctly. So, it will best for you to invest time in these as well while preparing for the SAT exam Singapore.

  5. 5. LEAVE LONG QUESTION FOR THE END Experts of the top SAT classes Singapore suggests students leave the long questions for the very last. And these questions mostly asked about the summary of the passage or what message the author is trying to give. You need to attempt this question at last because while answering all the answers you tend to have the concept of the passage already in the mind. So, you don’t need to re-read the passage for writing the answer. Lastly, I would say yes it takes a lot to score well in the writing test of the SAT exam. But, it’s not that hard when you follow all these tips and answer accordingly. With lots of focus and use of the right strategy while answering no one can stop you from conquering the SAT writing test.
