Club Qualification – The Rotary Foundation Requirements Qualify your club • If your club wishes to apply for global grants, your President and President-Elect must: • Agree to the club qualification MOU • Send at least one club member to a grant management seminar held by your district • Complete any additional steps that your district requires • Your club must qualify each year if you plan to apply for global grants.

Club Qualification – D9910 Requirements Additional District requirements - Your club: • Must qualify if it wishes to apply for both district grants and global grants • Must have contributed to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund at least once over the past three years • Must have entered their Rotary Foundation goals into Rotary Club Central – Goal Centre • Must have all Rotary International and District dues paid up to date

  23. Global Grant Requirements

Must have a long term sustainable impact Must include activities that clearly fit into one of the Six Areas of Focus Invest at least US$30,000 in a community Must include a Community Assessment Report - Address a need identified by the community Strengthen the community’s capacity to meet its own needs - after you have gone International partnerships required Measurable Outcomes The Rotary Foundation - Global Grant Requirements

Ensure your club is qualified Complete a needs analysis with the community you plan to help Develop a robust project plan and budget prior to inclusion in GG - must include sustainability Financial stewardship is very important You must involve the Host Club in the country where your project is taking place Reports are required to be submitted - on time Ask for help from your TRF Committee Global Grants – Things to focus on

  29. District Grant Requirements

  30. D9910 District Grants – 2019-20 • 20 district grants of up to $2500 are available for 2019-20 • Closing date for applications -20 September 2019 • Information and application forms have been given to each President Elect

  31. District Grants – Overall Guidelines • The project should be seen and promoted as a Rotary project . The Rotary logo should be displayed. • The project should, wherever possible, involve the active participation of Club members • Grants should be allocated to new specific projects • Grants must produce a tangible asset and may not be used to fund events (guidelines & selection criteria are in the info given to PEs)

  37. So how is D9910 going with Annual Fund Contributions?

  38. Club Actions • Please make your contribution to both the Annual Fund and PolioPlus for 2018-19 now (thank you if you already have) • Set your Club goals for 2019-20 and enter them into Rotary Club Central

  39. Club points can be used to give Paul Harris Fellow recognition to Rotarians and non-Rotarians

  40. The “Share” Model

  41. TRF invests the money our District contributed for 3 years, and then makes it available to us in the form of Grants to support our local and international projects. Contributions are made by clubs and individual Rotarians to the Annual Programmes Fund. 3 years later: 50% is credited to our District 9910 Account – the District Designated Fund (DDF) - for use in district and global grants 50% is credited to TRF’s World Fund which funds Programmes and Operations, including TRF contributions to Global Grants . The funds available for projects are completely reliant on the contributions made by clubs and individuals 3 years earlier! • The magic of The Rotary Foundation (TRF)!

  42. In 2016/2017 our District 9910 contributed $US158,088 to the Annual Programmes Fund. In 2019-20: 50% of this amount (US$79,044) will be credited to our District 9910 TRF Account, our District Designated Fund (DDF), for use in District Grants and for contributions to Global Grants 50% of this amount (US$79,044) will be credited to TRF’s World Fund which funds Global Programmes and Operations 91% of your contributions are spent directly on programmes, 7% on fund development and only 2% on administration – one of the most efficient in the world!
