Background • Who am I? • BA from Copenhagen Business School in IT & English • MS student in IT - E-business • Student Counsellor at the ITU • Currentlyworkingonmy master thesis • ITU offers 4 Master of Science in IT studyprogrammes: • Multimedia Technology & Games (MTG) • Softwaredevelopment & Technology (SDT) • Digital Design & Communication (DDK) • E-business (EBUSS)

My educationhere at ITU • The E-business programme is more towards Business and IT, not only E-business orE-commerce as manymaythink • I have chosen all myowncourses and projects - it has given me the opportunity to choosemyownpath • The coursesthat I have taken so far: • Strategic and tacticaltools for E-business • National Internet Law • IT strategy • ICT and Innovation • Webdesign and Webcommunication • Business Intelligence • Project Management of Business relatedIT-projects • Enterprise Architecture • Public SectorProcessRebuilding (CBS) • I have also done projectswithpracticalcaseworksuch as the Danish Agency for Governmental Management and otheragencieswithin the Danish Public Sector.

Master Thesis • The course Enterprise Architecture has definitely made its mark • My profile and focus is a strategic and management point of view – also in mythesis • The mainarea in mythesis is IT-governance: “IT-governance from a Strategic Change and Maturity Perspective”  • The bigquestion is: whathappenswhen an organisation has a formalizedIT-governancestructure and mechanisms? How do weget to the next step, i.e. implementation, communication and ownership • Does the structure and culture of the organisation have an impactonIT-governance and the implementation of it • Howdoes an organisation change, and canonemanagethischange – also the culturalaspect of change management • Canmaturity of IT-governancereallybemeasured? • Focuson management and strategy • Underlyingthemessuch as organisationaltheory, change management, maturity and Enterprise Architechture.

Empirical data • Interviews with experts – a way of validating and legitimizing the problemdefinition • Case – Region Sjælland (Region of Sealand) • Public case due to the fact that the Danish Public Sector is currently struggling with EA, governance and management The IT-governance of the Region
