  6. How much of Earth’s surface is covered by water? More than 70% of Earth’s surface is covered by water. 97% is salt water. 3% is fresh water.

  7. How much of Earth’s surface is covered by water? We can only use a small amount of fresh water because…most fresh water is found frozen in glaciers and ice caps. The rest is groundwater or water vapour. Only about 0.3% of fresh water is found in rivers, swamps and lakes within our reach.

  11. What is the water cycle process? 4. PRECIPITATION Clouds are a mixture of air, water vapour and tiny drops of condensed water. These tiny drops form into bigger drops and create precipitation (water). Precipitation falls from the air as rain, hail or snow.

  12. What is the water cycle process? 5. SURFACE RUN-OFF Water from precipitation that runs off the surface of the Earth, filling lakes, streams, rivers and oceans.
