Why create parental accounts?

Once parents have their own accounts you can link them to their children. The advantages of including parents in the platform include:

  • Parents can play an active role in their child’s learning
  • School information can be easily communicated.
  • Forums can be used for discussion, queries & feedback
  • Events can be displayed in the calendar
  • You have the option to let parents view their children’s emails

Step 4: Create a new CSV (or using the downloadable Parent Account Creation Spreadsheet – available from the online help guide)

  • Step 5:
  • Complete the first and last names of the parents in the correct column.
  • Leave the username and password fields empty as this will be automatically populated by the learning platform.
  • The role has to be completed with the word ‘Parent’ and the theme ‘Parental’
  • Using the first spreadsheet that was exported from the learning platform, copy and paste the child’s username into the Child1 column for the parent accounts. (This is highlighted on the previous page)
  • Please note – if a parent has more than one child at the school then you can place their second child’s name in the child2 column, third child’s name into the child3 column and so on.
  • Save the spreadsheet as a CSV (Comma Delimited) file.
