  2. Early Life • Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas, Venezuela, July 24th, 1783. • Simon Bolivar was educated by his uncle and a tutor named Simon Rodriguez when his parents died. • He went to Spain to continue his education when he was 16 in 1799.

  3. Adult Life • In 1813, he was given military command in Colombia when war broke out between France and Spain. • In 1817, New Granada, Venezuela, Ecuador, and The Gran Colombia gained independence by Bolivar who declared independence from Spain. • When Peru fully gain independence by Bolivar, he was given dictatorship of Peru in February 10th, 1824 which he can control the government and the military.

  4. His accomplishments • He managed to gain independence for some Latin American countries. • He managed to win the battle in The Battle of Junin, The Battle of Carabobo, and The Battle of Pichincha. • He became the dictator of Peru when he helped them get independence.

  5. Death • When he went to sail, he died by a harmful, deadly disease called Tuberculosis. • Before he died, he wanted to ask his general to burn his writings, the general refused and the writings survived. • He was buried in the cathedral of Santa Marta.
