Skating & Bowling Parties. H. Salvation. INTRO: WHY DID JESUS DIE? We Know What People Will SAY; But What Do Their ACTIONS Show? (Matt. 7:21)

Bulletin: “Pantry Fund Day”, “Meal following Worship”, “Fellowship Meal”, “Banquet” in the “Fellowship Hall”, etc.

To Add Or Subtract = Condemnation (Rev. 22:18-19). D. Where is the Command, Example, or Necessary Inference That Says The Church Is To Be Involved In Such?

  5. THE SOCIAL GOSPEL III. PERVERTS THE BIBLE A. “The church building is not sacred, thus it can be used for eating & socializing.” (1 Cor. 11:34; Heb. 10:25) B. “Fellowship meal” of “Fellowship Hall”. (1 John 1:3-7; 1 Pet. 4:11) C. We See Where It Starts, But WHERE WILL IT END (2 Tim. 3:13)?

  6. THE SOCIAL GOSPEL IV. INTRODUCES WORLDINESS A. ENTERTAINMENT BECOMES THE FOCUS Food for soul replaced by food for body Spiritual songs replaced by “Talented Choirs”, etc. Pious prayers & meditation replaced by games & “Andy Griffith” hour. B. The Attraction To Christ Is SPIRITUAL, Not Carnal (Eph. 1:3; Jn 6:24-27, 44-45)!

  7. THE SOCIAL GOSPEL V. CONFUSES CHURCH & HOME A. Two Distinct Institutions Home (Gen. 2:24). Church (Acts 20:28). B. Warned to keep them distinct (1 Cor. 11:34). C. If the church can get into social things; can it also: Spank my children (Heb. 12:9)? Take care of my needy widows (1 Tim. 5:4, 8, 16)? Where will it end?

  8. THE SOCIAL GOSPEL VI. DEMONSTRATES A LACK OF FAITH A. Bible faith from word (Rom. 10:17). B. To teach differently than the Bible, is to depart from the faith (1 Tim. 1:3-4; 4:1). B. THE Power Unto Salvation (Rom. 1:16). C. Word accomplish what God intended (Is. 55:10-11). WILL WE SIMPLY: DO BIBLE THINGS IN BIBLE WAY?
