  5. Regional Fire Dispatch Steering Committee To provide advice and recommendations to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) on matters related to the establishment and ongoing implementation of a Regional Fire Dispatch system within the Province of New Brunswick. 

  6. Guiding Principals (draft) • That there will be six (6) 911 regions in New Brunswick; • That fire dispatch will be provided in a standardized, 24/7 manner to all fire departments in the Province of new Brunswick;   • That all citizens of New Brunswick be provided a consistent minimum level of standardized fire dispatch; • That technology allows for 2-way voice communication between dispatch and fire service;

  7. That fire dispatch service will be provided in the official language of choice of the fire department; • That the autonomy and uniqueness of each fire department will be respected; • That the development and implementation of a regional fire dispatch system will be cost neutral to fire departments; • That technology will support the dispatch process.
