  2. NCLB Plan for Districts Yearly Application – • Similar to the one submitted for 2002-02 • Use of funds • Eligibility of schools • Projects • Flexibility • Etc.

  3. One-Time Plan to show the following: • Description of high-quality student achievement • To inform teachers and parents about student progress • To diagnosis student needs • To determine needed revisions in projects under NCLB Titles

  4. NCLB Plan for Districts (Cont.) • Districts may describe indictors in addition to academic achievement • Districts need to include a description of how services will be coordinated with other programs—i.e. Even Start, Head Start, Reading First, etc. • Districts will assurance that they will participate in NAEP if selected

  5. NCLB Plan for Districts (Cont.) • Districts will include a process for how teachers/paraprofessionals will meet the definition of high quality staff • Districts with schools that do not meet the definition of AYP must develop steps to improve student scores and implement the appropriate corrective actions

  6. Technology Plan—Title IID • Districts must have a current approved technology plan • The Comprehensive Education Plan includes a technology component which will meet the Title IID requirements

  7. Maine’s Comprehensive Education Plan NCLB plan needs to assure that plans have been made and are available at the district.

  8. Plan Development and Duration • Consultation—teachers, principals, administrators, other appropriate personnel, and parents of children served under Titles • Remain in effect for the duration of the district’s participation in NCLB • Reviewed periodically and revised as appropriate

  9. More to Come • NCLB Consolidated Application for funds will include the one-time plan (check list)—available this spring • Regional meetings will be held to go over this requirement as well as guidance provided by USDE
