  2. Who invented the game of basketball • The person who invented this popularsport • is James Naismith • He was born 18 61 • Death unknown

  3. When was it invented • USA in 1891, where the sport of basketball was born. In Springfield, Naismith was faced with the problem of finding a sport that was suitable for play inside during the Massachusetts winter for the students at the School for Christian Workers. Naismith wanted to create a game of skill for the students instead of one that relied solely on strength. He needed a game that could be played indoors in a relatively small space. The first game was played with a soccer ball and two peach baskets used as goals. Naismith joined the University of Kansas faculty in 1898, teaching physical education and being a chaplain.

  4. Describe the invention • The object of the game is to shoot the ball in the hoop to score points. To score extra points like three pointers is to shoot from the outer line or any thing father and make it anything else inside the line is two points. There are also fouls and violations if you do something wrong. Like if you hit the player when he is in motion while shooting he would have to do file shots if the player is not in motion the player would just have to take the ball out.

  5. How did it changed the way things were done during the Industrial Revolution. • They had something they can do for fun with fiends. Over time basketball has improved by adding new rules , styles ,and new moves

  6. How has this invention been improved • It has improved a lot by starting a basketball league called the NBA and the NCAA basketball league and there are lots a of teams ex. The heat , The Lakers , The Knicks and they all compete against each other to win the championship.
