  1. 1- What Is Electronic Ticketing? The electronic ticketing product provides the capability to create flight coupons electronically. All electronic ticketing transactions require the Galileo system and the vendor system .

  2. 2- What Is Electronic key product features? • Lower distribution/delivery/costs • No ticket on departure (TOD) costs • Reduced ticket printing /printer usage costs. • Ease of issue and reduced key strokes/actions. • Automated refunding of electronic ticketing through BSP.

  3. 3-How Does Electronic Ticketing Work ? • Hardware Requirements Electronic ticketing does require an agent to have a physical ticket printer, in addition agents also require to issue an itinerary to issue electronic tickets. • Software and Operating System Requirements Electronic ticketing is a host document production function and requires no specific software and/or operating system versions but requires terminal command access to the Galileo host .i.e. Focalpoint.

  6. 7- What Happens Next? • If the request has passed initial validation from Galileo ,then 1G will allocate ticket numbers and transmit the appropriate massage to the airline’s electronic ticket database to request final approval. • a) The electronic ticketing record will be stored in the validating airline’s database. b) The electronic ticket will be reported as issued. c) Supporting documents, where required will be sent to the default printer .

  11. 12- Electronic Ticketing Interline Agreements • Electronic ticketing uses an interline agreement table, providing full flexibility with on-line table updates of interline electronic ticketing carrier agreements to enable airlines to accept flight segments for other carriers with whom they have an electronic ticketing interline agreement to be issued electronically.

  16. 17- Electronic Ticket Exchange • Amend flight in the original booking file or create a new booking file as necessary. • Obtain and file a fare for the revised itinerary in the normal way. (Ensure that only new taxes required with regard to exchange ticketing are included). End and retrieve the booking file . • Display the electronic ticket record in another window in order to record its details in the exchange fill-in-format. • Request the exchange fill-in format by using the normal FEX modifier, but adding the ticket number to the input.
