By Logan. Monday. WOW! I was buzzing with excitement. It was a warm breezy day. The year 5’s were going to camp, but little did they know what they were in for. Humungous pipelines, big mountains to climb, beautiful falls and dark and mysterious caves. What a challenging week ahead of us.

  2. Monday WOW! I was buzzing with excitement. It was a warm breezy day. The year 5’s were going to camp, but little did they know what they were in for. Humungous pipelines, big mountains to climb, beautiful falls and dark and mysterious caves. What a challenging week ahead of us.

  3. Monday Yeah!! We’re finally there. We unpacked our gear in the dorm and went into the dining room for some afternoon tea. Mrs Baudinet led us on track by the green lake. We walked by a big surge chamber, then we had one of the most tiring things of the day; the Pipeline. But I managed it. We went home and had spag bol. After that we had a man named Richard come in and talk to us about the wildlife.

  4. Tuesday Today was our big walk. We had breakfast and packed our day packs, then we were off. Our first stop was the big Rata tree. The board said it was a whopping 800-1000 years of age! It also said it was 13 metres around the base. Every 20 minutes we stopped to have either a Moro or a Barley sugar. It took about 7 and a half hours to complete the walk. I felt so proud of myself for completing that walk. When we got back we had showers, and after had yummy devilled sausages for dinner. Then it was lights out.

  5. Wednesday Today was jammed packed with walks, huts and beautiful waterfalls. We had breakfast and then headed for Waikareiti Falls. We walked for about 2 hours. Then we had lunch at a little hut. The walk back only took 1 hour. After that we went on a loop track to see beautiful waterfalls. We went back and did the obstacle course. My team did so well. We went back had dinner and went to bed.

  6. Thursday Caves, caves and more caves. I couldn’t wait until we headed off. The caves were called Onetapo caves. Overall we went through eight caves. They were so dark. If we turned our torches off we could see Glow worms. After that we went to the Redoubt for lunch and a rugby game. When we got back we did our cookout. My team made the yummiest nachos. After that we roasted marshmallows, bananas and moros.

  7. Friday Pack up day!! Today was going home day. We had breakfast and cereal. Then we were ready to go. I went in Mrs Aston’s car with James and Sam. Our first stop was at Wairoa park. It was an awesome park. When we left the park we went to the gas station. We got an ice block. I had a nana nap in the car, and before we knew it we were home. Overall this was one of the best weeks in my life.
