  2. We would like to introduce to you some of the most important Italian figures who have contributed to make Italy well-known all over the world.

  3. CAIO GIULIO CESARE He was probably born in 101 BC. He died in Rome in 44 BC. He was a Roman general and a writer. He conquered a lot of territories both in Europe and in Africa. . .

  4. LEONARDODA VINCI He was born in 1452 and died in 1519. Leonardo was an artist, a scientist, a painter, an inventor, an architect, an engineer, a musician, a doctor and so on; in fact he was known as “the Universal Genius”. He painted the famous “Mona Lisa”.

  5. GALILEO GALILEI He was born in 1564 and died in 1642. He was a physician, a scientist, a philosopher, an astronomer and a mathematician. In particular he invented the telescope and theorized that it was the Earth turning around the Sun.

  6. He was born in 1807 and died in 1882. Garibaldi was an important general for the unification of Italy, which happened in 1861. Garibaldi came many times in Enna as a guest of a local baron. GIUSEPPE GARIBALDI

  7. RITA LEVI MONTALCINI She was born in 1909 and died in 2012 . She was a scientist and she received the Nobel Prize for medicine in 1986.
