Donor Designation • A documented, legally authorized commitment by an individual to make an anatomical gift that can be revoked only by that individual • 125,737,518 as of 3/31/15 • 24 states have signed up more than 2 million designated donors each • 37 stateshave registered at least 50% of their adult population

  6. Modernize Donor Designation Infrastructure • Design and launch a centralized donor registry (now Donate Life Registry) • Increase the number of alternate registration portals • Use “app” technology for donor registration • Facilitate use of social media for direct donor designation

Donate Life Registry Basics • No cost to recovery agencies • Access determined by existing state process • No systemic state registry data integration (optional feature driven by state) • Recovery organizations and their relevant staff are being trained on accessing the back end of the registry • Technical customer service available 24/7 • Consumer customer service during regular business hours • Spanish language version coming • See handout for more details
