  1. TRACKBALL • EFFICIENT • APPLIANCE • Practical • Easier • Ahead of alternative solutions As an added feature, trackball was very eficient as a faster tracking control with much less hand muscle contraction needed compared to early mouse devices, tracking surfaces ( laptops) or multi key configurations of a keyboard ( software configurations e.g. Photoshop ).

  2. AFFECTIVE • Office environment: Working a large portion of the day, • Physical affects : Usually negative medical signs at the end of the day • ERGONOMY!

  3. EFFECTIVE • Office Stress • Pschology • Perception • Display • Colors • Monochrome vs. Colors • INTERFACE!

  4. AMBIENT • Environment of computer oriented working activity • Data Transfer /Bytes • Contemporary Solution : Wireless Data Transfer • No longer existent in physical form

  5. PORTABLE • Mobile • Smaller in scale • Foldable • Mobile Electronics • Nanotechnology

  6. WEARABLE • Organic • Smart • Lıberating from solid Volumes • Comforting • Surrounding

  7. SHARED • Information / Entertainment sharing • Source to individuals • server to users • Uploading / Downloading • constant downloading • INTERNET

  8. SURFACE • Minimal • Efficient • Popular geomtrical element in consumer goods. E.g. Italian furniture, Electronics • Display screens added feature • Mirror LCD

  9. CONVERGENCE • Brainstorming • Coming up with related ideas • Non linear mapping / overlapping This presentation has been prepared as a brainstorming session following the vocabulary and the final idea is visualised with the ultimate representative product that is currently being marketed.

  10. APPOINTED TECHNOLOGY: GESTURE DETECTION TECHNOLOGY Gesture detecting technology, allows the user to control the sofware by motion. The developed technolgy suggests that the famous Minority Report crime department fantasy is no fantasy. One of the developed techniques is already on market, Playstation has develpoed the “Eyetoy”, a camera attached via USB connection, detects the motions of the player and sends the video feed as the player’s moves. Another technique is already in market as a virtual keyboard, the keyboard is projected on a surface, the moves of the fingers is detected as decided controlling.

  11. FOUND TECHNOLOGY SMART CHAIR TECHNOLOGY Sitting is a general activity of the body. A large portion of the day is occupied with activities done while sitting; driving, tranportation, office work, school hours… Most designers are focused on the ergonomics of sitting, the major improvements are directed at the field of ergonomics mostly at office environment. One of the projects in smart technology directed at chair design is the augmented smart chair project: It aims to build a smart chair by making it aware of the user's activities (posture, movement, and "sitting habits") and to augment it with feedback mechanisms that assist the user in a friendly manner. Another project is V. Smart Intelligent Chair : Automatically senses the weight of each user as they sit on the chair and automatically adjusts tension according to the user’s body weight, giving optimum active support, balance

  12. SYNTHESIS • INTELLIGENT DESK ENVRONMENT • SMART ELECTRONICS ARE SPREADING INTO MOST OF THE CONSUMER GOODS ELECTRONICS ARE INTEGRATED INTO FURNITURE AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. • A SMART DESK FOR THE OFFICE WORKER SYMPATHISING WITH THE WORKERS NEEDS : • A CHAIR THAT SENSES THE BAD POSTURE AND VIBRATE, SWELL UP AND MAKE THE WORKER SIT IN THE PROPER POSITION • A DESK THAT UNDERSTANDS AND PREDICTS AND MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE USER • projecting the keyboard as the computer is turned on. • mouse appears out of its “nest” • delivering the notebook and the pen out for hardcopy note taking • Etc. • See sketch

  13. WORKSCAPE

  14. OFFERS: • Furniture and Service • Furniture and Surface • Sharing Furniture • Furnıture and Interactive Technology • We can focus a little more on furniture than products. • The project is going in the direction of desigining an electronic product (appliance), at least for me.
