  2. POTD Mrs. Leary’s class visited the animal shelter to see the animals that were available for adoption. They counted 24 animals in all. • 1/3 of the animals were dogs. • The rest were cats. • How many dogs were at the shelter? • How many cats were at the shelter? Explain how you know your answers are correct.
