  2. Modern life is impossible without travelling. And no wonder: «He, that travels far, knows much».

  3. That’s why we have decided to travel abroad. It’s very interesting. The more we travel about another country, the more we learn about its people, their culture, traditions and customs.

  4. x • by plane All pupils of our school want to visit Great Britain. We have discussed some ways of travelling: • by boat • by ship • by train • by bike • on foot • by taxi • by bus • by car

  5. x What way of travelling is it? Listen and try to guess what way of travelling we have chosen. It’s a pleasant way of travelling. Travelling by it you can reach England in three hours and a half. And you can reach the USA in ten hours. To travel by it you must weigh your luggage and get a boarding pass. You have to come two hours earlier to the place of departure. This way of traveling is dangerous. Sometimes it depends on the weather.

  6. x Yes, you are right It’s travelling by plane

  7. x Now let’s speak about the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of travelling

  8. x By plane

  9. x By car

  12. Travelling x

  13. x Imagine our journey has started. We can start the journey in Boryspil Airport near Kyiv. Ukrainian companies provide good service to their passengers.Boryspil airport is modern and large. The staff is highly qualified. They check your tickets, passport, luggage, customs declaration and then you get to a large waiting hall. There you can have a rest in a bar or visit some duty-free shops. Then you will be invited into the plane. Usually it is a Boeing. In the plane the stewardesses will bring you mineral water, juice and other drinks on your choice. Then you will eat your on-board breakfast finishing with coffee or tea.The price of meals is included into the price of your ticket. After three hours of flight you will land in Heathrow airport. Look at the pictures. Do you know the signs?

  14. x Do you know the signs

  15. At this map you can see the plan of the air terminal. x

  16. x Our flight was not long but interesting. We sang songs and recited poems. Learn them by heart!

  17. x Travelling On the move, On the move, Millions of people Are on the move On the road, On the road, Thousands of cars, Are on the road. In the sky, In the sky Hundreds of planes Quickly fly. By train or bus, By plane or car People like Travelling very far.

  18. x Travelling I like to ride in a railway train Through tunnels dark and wide. Over the Bridges crossing the river, I feel so safe inside. When water looks very smooth, I like to sail by ship or boat. A sea voyage is very good, When you feel a sea breeze blow. But an airplane is the best of all, It flies so very high. That people look like tiny dots, And clouds go sailing by.

  19. x ApoemBy John Mansfield One road leads to London, One road runs to Wales, My road leads me seawards To the white dipping sails. One road leads to the river As it goes singing slow, My road leads to shipping Where the Bronzed sailors go. My road calls me, lures me West, east, south and north. Most roads lead men homewards, My road leads me forth.

  20. x Poem “Train” Over the mountains, Over the plains, Over the rivers Here come trains Carrying passengers, Carrying mail. Over the country Here come trains.

  21. x Apoem Stop! Look! Listen! The trams and cars in our town Run up and down, up and down! Stop! Look at the light! First look to the left And then to the right. Stop! Look and listen! Before you cross the street Use your eyes, use your ears And then use your feet.

  22. x If you have a little snack In a hurry go back Someone can your luggage steal While you have your tasty meal. You can see at railway station Passenger of any nation. They will travel, to my mind, In carriages of any king. If you go on vocation Go to the railway station Try to take a fast express You’ll be safe in it, not stressed. Travelling Planes are quicker than the trains Trains are cheaper than the planes I like traveling on foot It makes healthy me and good. If you want to travel fast Take a plane, a train, a bus. If you want to be in time Always choose the airline. If you visit farthest land Book your ticket beforehand. If you want in time to turn Book not single, but return. If you want to go far Then you need a sleeping-car. If you want to sleep at first You may take the upper berth.
