  3. The Situation • Development projects worldwide are facing the tremendous challenge of alleviating poverty, but increasing security risks threaten the safety of aid workers and technical experts, and also those they are trying to assist. Furthermore, the very nature of traditional security measures often runs counter to the important inroads development organizations have made with these communities, and almost always siphons away far too large a percentage of development funds.

  4. Nebula – A New Beginning At Nebula we assess each situation and train development workers first. Detailed research and planning by our team of highly skilled analysts, the best trained security personnel in the industry, state-of-the-art equipment, and input from our clients makes it possible to provide the highest level of security with a discreet security detail that will not overpower your message.

  5. One Size Doesn’t Fit All! Nebula knows that there is a difference between each client, each mission, and each environment. We also know that “security” means more than brandishing weapons and sealing off clients from the communities they wish to serve. 13. Nebula – A New Beginning If your security detail makes a greater impression than you do, are you communicating your message? The world is changing. Jan Eliasson, the former UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, asserts that the entire humanitarian community, NGOs included, must recognize the changing security context: “Additional measures for respect of humanitarian aid and for protection of relief personnel are now necessary” Security is more complex. But the effects of security details often jeopardize our clients’ missions. Is your humanitarian mission enhanced by high-profile heavily armed personnel? You are making the world a better place. Nebula wants to ensure your safety, work with you and your team, and help you make a new beginning.
