  3. 2. Project Idea • The fear of novelty, of not being able to adapt to new workplaces and new procedures often discourages older people to engage into new professional and volontary activities. Serious games in 3D virtual environments that reproduce their workplace could help them to familiarize with the environment, virtually train the work procedures, and detect eventual difficulties, before getting engaged in a new activity. Old persons would have a more objective perception on their capacities, feel more secure and optimistic. • The goal of the project is to design a software platform for the fast creation of serious professional training games composed of: • a generic model of 3D serious game allowing the creation of instances for each workplace and task • a rapid prototyping method for the creation of 3D virtual work places • an interactive tool for the specification of tasks AAL JP Call 6 Central InfoDay – Brussels, 6 february 2013
