  3. What is Allergic Rhinitis? Human immune system is designed in such a way that if any intruder or foreign body enters the body, it start producing antibodies against it, to fight against it. Similarly, if anyone suffers from allergy rhinitis, the immune system will identify that harmful substance as an intruder. This harmful substance cause allergic reaction, and thus is called as allergen. Your immune system reacts to the allergen by releasing chemical mediators or histamine, causing symptoms in nose, eyes, throat skin, roof of mouth and ears.

  4. What are different types of Allergy rhinitis? Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis or Hay Fever: It is caused by the pollens in air that are carried during different times of the year in different parts of the country. 5. It is called perennial allergic rhinitis because the symptoms occur throughout the year. Image Source : https://www.welcomecure.com/diseases/allergic-rhinitis/causes

  6. In addition to these allergens, allergic symptoms may also occur due to change in humidity in air or temperature, smoke and other strong odors. This causes inflammation in the nasal lining that increases the sensitivity to inhalants.

  7. What are the symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis? • Symptoms of Allergic rhinitis include: • Itching occurs in the throat, nose, eyes, and roof of the mouth • Tearing eyes and dark circles under the eyes • Stuffy nose or congestion, Runny nose and Sneezing Image Source : http://mountainwestent.com/immunotherapy-the-most-effective-allergy-treatment/

  8. What are Diagnosis tests of Allergic Rhinitis? Diagnosis and Test The most commonly used are skin testing and blood testing. Special blood tests may be used to diagnose allergens, if you cannot under skin tests; such tests are known as IgE RAST tests and complete blood count (CBC) test, also called as Eosinophil count. An allergist or immunologist undergo specialized training and gain expertise in diagnosis procedures to identify specific allergens that triggered allergic reaction or to find out if your symptoms are non-allergic. To determine these allergens, allergy testing is done by these allergists.

  9. What are different treatments method used to treat Allergic Rhinitis? • Allergy Shots: Immunotherapy or Allergy shots are preferred sometimes if you unable to avoid pollens and it is hard to control your symptoms. This includes regular shots of the pollen you are allergic to and each dose is higher than the previous dose. It is given until you reach the dose that helps to control your allergic symptoms. These shots help your body to adjust to the pollens causing allergic reactions. Image Source : http://pestkill.org/insect/mites/dust-mite/allergy/
