  2. Your 2013-2014 Teachers Ms. Flanagan- Reading, Language Arts (writing, spelling, grammar), Math, Social Studies Mr. Nyenhuis- Science

  3. Schedule Homeroom- AM Reading, Writing, Math PM- Homeroom/Mr. Nyenhuis Social Studies, Science, Recess, Special

  4. Classroom Jobs Every student will have a classroom job. Some of these include: • mail delivery • locker inspection • board erasers • lunch baskets • lunch count

  5. Lunch Count Procedure Every morning, we will record who is having hot lunch and who is having cold lunch for the office lunch count on a clipboard. .

  6. Agendas Agendas are used everyday in fourth grade!

  7. Lockers Some students will be sharing lockers this year due to our large class size. Locker Inspectors will check them weekly.

  8. Bathroom Procedures We will use bathroom passes this year. Please try to use them when you won’t miss important directions or instructions.

  9. Snacks Snacks are allowed. Whatever your parents send is fine with me. Rules: Snack time is mid morning. No sharing food. Water allowed in room but must be kept in locker at other times of the day..

  10. Birthday Treats Birthday Treats are welcome. They must be easy to pass out (brownies, cupcakes, popsicles, etc.--no large cakes to cut up). If your birthday is in the summer, you can pick any day to bring a treat (if you’d like to).

  11. Classroom Materials Available for use in our classroom: • markers • colored pencils • looseleaf paper • rulers • calculators • staplers • paper clips • post its • scissors

  12. Mailboxes You will have a mailbox of your own for: • office notes • newsletters • homework • conduct cards • corrected classwork

  13. Reading Workshop Bins Each of you will have your own reading bin. In it you will keep your Reading Workshop Binder, a selection of books and other important materials.

  14. BackJack Chairs These chairs will be used during IDR time. We will have a schedule for when it is your turn to use one of the chairs.

  15. Grading Policies ES-exceeds standards MS-meets standards AS-approaching standards CA-concern area

  16. Conduct Cards You will receive a weekly report on Fridays. It will include a daily grade for behavior and let your parents know if you are missing any assignments.

  17. Fun Money Flanagan Fun Money can be earned for many reasons and then used for prizes, treats, and other rewards.

  18. Homework **Reading-Reading Logs due Friday (shooting for 100 minutes per week) **Math- Study Links **Writing- Weekly Assignment (Author’s Purpose) **Social Studies/Science-study for tests/several projects

  19. Recess Our recess is in the afternoon. We have 20 minutes.
