  1. Hammond Wolf Cubs SHOW PAWS • (Positive Action With Success) • Success Motto: • Wolf Cubs show PAWS (Positive Action With Success) • School Rules: • Properly prepared to learn. • Always keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. • Walk, work, talk, and eat politely. • Stop and think about your actions. • Students who show PAWS will be eligible to attend the weekly Wolf Cub Howl, which is a celebration of success.

  2. Point System: • The point system will be addressed by each grade level. • Consequences: • Verbal warning issued. • Child pulls a card, loses a point. • Child pulls 2nd card, loses a 2nd point. • Child pulls 3rd card, loses 3rd point, takes classwork to time-out in another classroom. Parent contact made in order to plan interventions for future success. • Students not meeting with success will attend Social Skills Sessions (SSS). • Students who are continuously disruptive will attend Principal’s Detention and/or be suspended from school. • All grade levels will have a Friday “work group” for students who do not complete classwork or homework. • Severe Discipline: • Notify office for severe discipline.

  3. Procedures for Weekly Wolf Cub Howl The weekly Wolf Cub Howl will be held on the last day of each week and should last no longer than 30 minutes. In order to be eligible to attend Wolf Cub Howl, a student must have met their weekly goal (determined by each grade level) for that week. 4. Principal’s Detention • Principal’s Detention is for students who keep the teacher from teaching or other students from learning. If students continue to be disruptive after attending SSS three times during a grading period, they will attend Principal’s Detention. • Procedure for referral to Principal’s Detention: • 1. Student attends three SSS sessions during the grading period. • 2. Teacher completes Principal’s Detention Referral. • Example: REASON FOR REFERRAL: “DETENTION – Johnny gets out of his seat during instruction; he talks when the teacher is teaching; he plays at his desk which distracts others; he tries to get the attention of other students while they are working.” • Non-example: REASON FOR REFERRAL: “Johnny has continued to pull cards. He is very disruptive.” • Principal’s Detention Referral must be sent to the office on Friday morning.
