Accreditation Update • March 15, 2010 Follow-Up report • Addressed Recommendation: “Financial Resources & Technology” • “While the “fixing” the PeopleSoft Financial Management System will take time, recent efforts demonstrate commitment to resolving the issues & willingness to have outside experts assist in process.” • “District is now moving forward to seriously address not only this ACCJC recommendation but also to address the external audit findings and have a system in place that will serve the district well in managing its finances”

RECOMENDATIONS Recommendation 1: • In order to meet the Standard and build upon the considerable progress made in developing a systematic, integrated district-wide planning process, • Recommends the college move forward in implementing its own comprehensive and integrated strategic planning process that is tied to the college’s mission, values, goals and priorities and includes the evaluation and refinement of key processes to improve student learning and promote institutional effectiveness

Response • Ongoing collegial and self-reflective dialogue about improvement of student learning and institutional processes • Creation of Institutional Effectiveness Committee • Diana Bajrami, IEC Facilitator • Faculty-driven Committee with participation from all constituents: Classified Professionals, Students, etc.

RECOMENDATIONS Recommendation 2: • In order to meet the Standard… • Recommends systems that support internal campus communication, as well as college-district communication, be improved to support the optimal functioning of the college in promoting student learning • YES! We met it—let’s keep going!

RECOMENDATIONS Recommendation 3: • In order to meet the Commission’s 2012 deadline, the college must accelerate its progress in developing and assessing course-level and program-level student learning outcomes and using assessment data for improvement. • Further, in order to meet the Standards, the college must also ensure compliance with its program review and unit planning processes and accelerate its progress toward creating a data-driven environment in which continuous assessment is used as a vehicle for institutional improvement • YES! We met it! Keep on Keeping on!

  10. RECOMENDATIONS Recommendation 4: • The team recommends that the college devote the time and resources needed to complete regular systematic evaluations for classified professionals, full-time contract faculty, and part-time faculty • YES! WE DID IT! Keep up the great work!
