  8. Accelerated Reading It’s up to the students how far they want to go in the A.R. program. The students will set their own goals for the program. We will also set weekly goals for the class. Those students meeting the weekly goal (who have kept their average 85% or higher) will participate in “Lunch Bunch” on Fridays. There will also be other incentives. For instance, students can purchase items and fieldtrips at the A.R. store with points earned.

  9. Academic Expectations • The students will set goals for themselves in each subject. We will provide the resources • and support for each child to meet his/her individual goals. We will document the students’ progress using data notebooks (more info. to come). • We will be your child’s best cheerleader! We • will give 100% daily, and expect the same • in return from the students. Remember…It’s • okaynot to know. It’s not okay not to try!

  10. Academic Expectations (continued) • Cheating is not tolerated. You will be called immediately if there is evidence of • cheating. This includes cheating on A.R. tests. Students deserve a second chance; • therefore, the assignment or test can be retaken for a maximum score of 80%. For A.R., • the student’s consequence will be the loss of 50% of points earned.
