  3. Round,Like a circle in a spiralLike a wheel within a wheel,Never ending on beginning,On an ever-spinning reelLike a snowball down a mountain,Or a carnival balloonLike a carousel that's turningRunning rings around the moonLike a clock Round,Like a circle in a spiralLike a wheel within a wheel,Never ending on beginning,On an ever-spinning reelLike a snowball down a mountain,Or a carnival balloonLike a carousel that's turningRunning rings around the moonLike a clock whose hands are sweepingPast the minutes on its faceAnd the world is like an appleSpinning silently in spaceLike the circles that you findIn the windmills of your mind! Like a tunnel that you followTo a tunnel of its ownDown a hollow to a cavernWhere the sun has never shoneLike a door that keeps revolvingIn a half-forgotten dreamLike the ripples from a pebbleSomeone tosses in a stream.Like a clock whose hands are sweepingPast the minutes on its faceAnd the world is like an appleSpinning silently in spaceLike the circles that you findIn the windmills of your mind! I chose this song because as I was reading it I thought of the confusion that people go through during rough times. People start thinking about what might happen and what to do. Teenagers especially go through this transition when they hit puberty. Also in the sixties, just like we are now, were in a war. This song plays into that by saying “wheel within a wheel.” This to me means people thinking together and becoming one. 1960’s"Windmills of Your Mind" from The Thomas Crown Affair

  4. Raindrops keep falling on my headAnd just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bedNothin' seems to fitThose raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling So I just did me some talkin' to the sunAnd I said I didn't like the way he' got things doneSleepin' on the jobThose raindrops are falling on my, head they keep falling But there's one thing I knowThe blues he sends to meet me won't defeat meIt won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep falling on my headBut that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' redCrying's not for meCause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'Because I'm freeNothing's worrying me. This song reminds me of the rough times that people were going through at this time in the 1960’s. People were worrying about the war along with wandering if they would live the next day. This is similar to the current events that are happening today. "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

  5. Ain't no miracle being bornPeople doin' it everydayIt ain't no miracle growing up, ahPeople just grow that way Chorus:So it goes like it goesLike the river flowsAnd time it rolls right onAnd maybe what's good gets a little bit betterAnd maybe what's bad gets gone Ah, bless the child of a working manShe knows too soon who she isAnd bless the hands of a working manOh, he knows his soul is his. Chorus × 2 I like this poem. This poem has a good point to it. Everyone has a certain responsibility and place in this world. You can be poor, rich, or middle class. You can be young, a teenager, or a older person. We all have a place in the world. 1970’s"It Goes Like It Goes" from Norma Rae

  6. The changing of sunlight to moonlightReflections of my life Oh, how they fill my eyesThe greetings of people in troubleReflections of my life Oh, how they fill my mind All my sorrows, sad tomorrowsTake me back to my own home   All my cryings (all my cryings) Feel I'm dying, dyingTake me back to my own home (Oh I'm going home) I'm changing, arranging I'm changing I'm changing everything Ah, everything around me The world is a bad place A bad placeA terrible place to live Oh, but I don't wanna die This song doesn’t really have anything to do with my life, but more less with others. I know people that feel this same way about our world. They think this world is a horrible and bad place. This song could also go along with this day and age with some people. MarmaladeReflections of my Life

  7. I said, a hip, hopHippie to the hippieThe hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock itTo the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogieTo the rhythm of the boogie, the beatNow, what you hear is not a test - I'm rappin' to the beatAnd me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feetSee, I am Wonder Mike, and I'd like to say helloTo the black, to the white, the red and the brownThe purple and yellow. But first, I gottaBang bang, the boogie to the boogieSay up jump the boogie to the bang bang boogieLet's rock, you don't stopRock the rhythm that'll make your body rockWell so far you've heard my voice but I brought two friends alongAnd the next on the mic is my man HankC'mon, Hank, sing that song This was part of the start to the rap industry. It added a new style. Rap became very big. Rap today has become very big in the United States. Rap today though has a variety of people instead of just a couple. Rap is more of my style music. Rap is the majority of the music that i listen to. 1980’sThe Sugarhill GangRappers Delight

The 90’s was a huge breakthrough for the music industry. This song will be a song that will still come up later in life. Some rappers have come up with other lyrics based on this song. 1990’sSir Mix-A-LotBaby Got Back

This was a one hit artist of the 90’s. This song is still played today in some places. Personally between the beastie boys and Vanilla ice is what got white people started with the hip/hop industry. 11. Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota To fight for the red, white and blue He was 19 and green with a new M-16 Just doing what he had to do He was dropped in the jungle where the choppers would rumble With the smell of napalm in the air And the sergant said...look up ahead Like a dark evil cloud, 1,200 came down on him and 29 more They fought for their lives but most of them died in the 173rd Airborne [Chorus:] On the 8th of November the angels were crying As they carried his brothers away With the fire raining down and the hell all around There were few men left standing that day Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky 1965, the 8th of November Now he's 58 and his pony tail's gray But the battle still plays in his head He limps when he walks but he's strong when he talks About the Shrapnel they left in his leg He puts on a gray suit over his Airborne tattoo And he ties it on one time a year And remebers that fallen as he orders a tall one And swallows it down with his tears This song is a great country song That talks about a boy going off to war. This could be me one day as I ponder the thought of maybe going off to the navy or national guard. 2000’s8th Of NovemberBig & Rich

  12.  I don?t need a whole lot of money But I wouldn?t turn a lottery down I just need a little green in my pocket So I can buy my buddies a round All I want is a place to lay my head with the woman I love lyin? in my bed Kind of understated My dreams aren?t that complicated? I wanna be the one When all is said and done Who lived a good life, loved a good wife, and always helped someone in trouble On the day they lay me down I want everyone to gather ?round And say he was a father, brother, neighbour and a friend He was a good man! I used to dream of being a rock star And seein? the world in style Used to dream of havin? a fast car And driving that miracle mile But I?ve heard tales those streets aren?t paved in gold They?re full of pot holes and empty souls Who never learn? Love is something you gotta earn I wanna be the one When all is said and done Who lived a good life, loved a good wife, and always helped someone in trouble On the day they lay me down Want everyone to gather ?round And say he was a father, brother, neighbour and a friend He was a good man! When I?m gone, I wanna leave a legacy Of love and laughs and honesty behind me Behind me? This song makes me think of how everyman or woman would like the world to see them. I’de deffinetly want the people I love and care for to think I was a good man that would do anything for anybody. This is what all of America should want. A Good ManEmerson Drive
