JULIE Lifestyle in this decade. • Life hasn’t changed much between 2010 & 2014, however, new inventions and technology has made it easier for the average person to complete daily tasks. • The unemployment rate in the United States has noticeably lowered in the past 4 years under Obama’s presidency. • The majority of the population lay in the group of people 18 years old or younger according to a recorded population census.

GRAYSON Inventions in 2010 • In 2010 3D television entered the marketplace. - In January, 2010 Panasonic unveiled the world's first integrated twin-lens Full HD 3D camcorder, followed by the first 3D consumer camcorder in July. • Martin Aircraft of New Zealand announced the first commercially-available jet pack. The 250 lbs "Jetpack" is capable of 30 minutes of flight time, can reach heights of 8,000 feet and is fueled by regular premium gasoline. As anticipated as this invention was it comes with a price tag, $86,000 to be exact.

Inventions in 2011 • In early 2011 Microsoft released the Kinect Sensor. - This device was paired with the Xbox 360. - This was the 2nd invention to utilize motion control behind Nintendo in November of 2006. • In September, 2011 Apple released Siri. - Siri was an integral part of the iPhone, functioning as a personal assistant. • Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Unveiled the Nissan LEAF, the world's first affordable, zero-emission car. - Nissan LEAF is a medium-size hatchback that seats five adults. - Can travel over 100 miles before needing to be recharged.

Inventions in 2012 • The Windows 8 operating system was released to manufacturing on August 1, 2012. - Windows 8 is the latest version of Microsoft's operating system for PCs and tablets. • Google Glass is a type of wearable technology with an optical head-mounted display (OHMD). - With Google Glasses you can search the web hands-free. - Google glasses are now on the market for $1500.

How did technology change this decade? • Advancements in technology made tasks in the workplace substantially easier. • With the evolution of security and other things such as new software for computers and newer, updated programs designed specifically for certain fields of study. • The further expansion of home appliances has also greatly contributed to home life. For example, TV’s and laptops. • We are overwhelmed with new technology and social media that getting good grades in school has become more stressful since we have access to hundreds of distractions.
