  1. Overall Theme: King Josiah-The Young Reformer Talk # 2 – Finding the Book of the Law (2 Chron. 34:14-28)

  2. Reformation: Positive & Negative Action! If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Ephesians 4:21-25

  3. The Book of the Law And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Deuteronomy 31:24-26

  4. It’s our response and attitude to God’s Word that will determine its effectiveness in our life! James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. doing the word = caring for others, especially the ‘helpless’ cp. 2Chr. 35:26 – Josiah!

  5. The Power of the Word Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Galatians 5:6 … faith which worketh by love. Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

  6. The Power of the Word Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Our good deeds are a RESULT of God’s offer of Salvation – NOT the cause of it!

  7. Faith & Works! For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26 “The fruit of a tree doesn’t MAKE the tree good or bad, it just shows what kind of tree it is!” William Tyndale

  8. Word Study: “Colouring-In” exercise! “present” / “found” (mg) 2 Chronicles 34: 14, 15, 17, 21, 30, 32, 33; 35:7, 17, 18
