  4. Personal Mentoring • Dedicated mentor assigned to each student • Mentors are full-time WGU faculty • Mentor stays with student as a partner, coach, advisor, and motivator from the beginning through graduation • Personalized graduation plan establishes pacing through the program

  5. Acceleration • Average time to graduation is 30 months (vs. 60 months national average) • Students know different things and learn at different rates • Students learn at their own pace • All graduates have demonstrated mastery of all required competencies

  9. WGU Tuition • Tuition: $2890 • MBA & Nursing: $3250 • Flat rate per 6 month term – “all you can learn buffet” • University supported on tuition alone – no direct state support

WGU in Michigan • Michigan has hundreds of thousands of “almost degrees” • Universities are ineffective with working adults • States can’t afford to grow existing four year system to compensate. • Articulation agreements in place with community colleges across the country. • Statewide agreements in Florida and Indiana.

  11. Work with States • Include in statewide postsecondary strategic planning • Introduce and recommend to working adults, CC graduates, and employers • Partner to support rural health or teaching • One-time projects for dislocated workers
