  5. Timeline Officially started on July 10, 1940 Main attacks did not occur until August 13 Hilter called them off in October of 1940, planning on returning in the spring but never did

  6. Axis Objectives Looking to destroy Britain’s Air Force so that they could full out attack them Goal of getting Britain to surrender

  7. Allies’ Objectives Fighting for survival as the attacks were on their soil Knowing the importance if the Germans would win towards the outcome of the war

  8. Axis Strategy Bombing the coastal airfield Bomb radar stations Followed by the main land airfields Eventually bombing the cities looking for a surrender

  9. Allies Strategy Use the divide and conquer technique Use small constant groups of fighters to divide the Axis planes and pick them off one by one

  10. Outcome • Great Britain was considered the winner because they didn’t surrender, which is considered as the first major victory for the Allies • Great Britain death count was 23,002 people • Axis lost 1,652 aircrafts and not as many people as their civilians were not involved.
