  19. A artista plástica Sônia Menna Barreto, faz da sua produção artística a mais próxima expressão do homo ludens, o homem lúdico. Seu espírito criativo buscou terras e personagens que habitam a ima- ginação das pessoas de todas as idades. Sua técnica origina-se nos pintores flamengos do século XV, misturando hiper-realismo com mi- núcias da técnica francesa do Trompe L’oeil. Em outubro de 2002, pela primeira vez uma obra brasileira passou a integrar a ROYAL COLLECTION, pertencente à Família Real Britânica, uma das mais importantes coleções de arte do mundo. Sônia Menna Barreto participou da cerimônia de entrega de um quadro original de sua autoria no Palácio de Buckingham. Born on November 5th, 1953 in São Paulo,  the capital city of the state of São Paulo in Brazil, Sônia Menna Barreto  began drawing in 1960. Her technique has its origins in the Flemish painters of the fifteenth century, mixing hyper-realism with details of the French technique of Trompe L’oeil . For the first time ever, the artistic work of a Brazilian was made a part of the British Royal Collection in October, 2002. This is one of the most important art collections in the world. The painting “Leonard Cheshire” by Sônia Menna Barreto was presented at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
