  1. Chromomycosis By:McKay Brumfield

  2. Description • Chromomycosis- This is actually a fungal infection, to where you develop large raised greyish-red bumpy patches over several areas of the skin. Sometimes can be white and plaque like.

  3. Scientific description • This fungal infection infects the subcutaneous tissue of the hypodermis.

  4. Cause of disease • -The cause of this disease is if the fungal infectious agent is able to penetrate the skin. • -The fungus starts to grow underneath the skin causing large growths and knots under the skin.

  5. Other signs of disease • -Grey raised tumors in the skin. • -Flattened skin plaque • -Cystic Lesions • -Deep abscess

  6. Chromomycosis

  7. Cure • -To cure this infection people have used different kinds of anti-fungal medication. Or even cryo-surgery for cases with large skin tumors. For cases really bad, they will use antibiotics along with anti-fungal medication.

  8. Worst Case Scenario • The worst thing that could happen with this, is it could spread through the blood and lymph vessels creating metastatic lesions at different sites on the skin. Also, it could infect deeper layers of skin and even deeper organ tissues. Which would be terrible for the victim.

  9. 3 facts • Since it is in fact a fungal infection you can use fungus cream to treat some non-severe cases of it. • The infection can last for years even with treatment. • You can freeze off some of the infection like you would to a wart.
