ESCI KSP Project The ESCI KSP project has been jointly coordinated by Chinese Taipei and United States since 2011. • To Develop a web-based knowledge management center as “Knowledge Sharing Platform(KSP)” that will host and share each of the ESCI projects and related data. • To Ensure that database and information gathering practices among Asia-Pacific area are done in an uniform and consistent way. • To consolidate information and data to support actions that will contribute to APEC’s policy of 45% reduction of Energy Intensity from 2005 base by 2035.

Key Features of KSP • A central repository for case studies and technologies related to Smart Transport, Buildings, Grids, Jobs and Low Carbon Model Towns • A Useful tool designed to inspire collaborations between economies and between the public and private sectors • A Cooperative mechanism to mobilize the ESCI Action Networks

  9. Results and Progress • The beta version was presented to APEC economies in October 2011, Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei. • Its conceptual framework has proven to be extremely successful, enabling us to collect valuable feedback from the representatives and participants for EWG42.

Results and Progress • The ongoing website was presented at the APEC-ISGAN Workshop for Smart Grid experts and representatives on January 24-25, 2012 in Washington DC. • The new version provides: • a. more functionality and well-organized system for the • specialized users(e.g. EWG participants, task leaders) to • have clear and easier access to information needed; • b. more emphasis on the ESCI four pillars and cross- • cutting task as LCMT with the capacity to showcase the • deep knowledge regarding the ESCI projects

Results and Progress (3) Featured Content • Branding • A newly designed logo for the Energy Smart Communities Initiative • The APEC Energy Working Group logo to the site header • Functionality • A listing and description of the four main pillars, 13 sub-tasks and the Low Carbon Model Towns cross-cutting task. • Highlights the APEC economies that had pledged its participate in each task. • Comment section for each project users to feedback and dialog

Results and Progress (3) Featured Content • Current Status • contains Thirty-eight case studies from APEC economies • two video-taped interviewswith key figures(more to come) • network of task leaders and representatives (more than 30) from 18 APEC economies who offer the project materials • collects the latest programs and presentation materials from the workshops including Smart Transport, Smart Grids and Low Carbon Model Towns • Scheduled Calendar of upcoming meetings • Categorized links to other useful and relevant websites, such as EGEE&C, ECOWAN, etc.

Future Workplan Following completion of the ESCI KSP With the well-connected ESCI action network, the KSP website has redesigned into an upgraded version by collecting a lot of positive and useful feedback among APEC. The final version includes a fully developed content, complete with case studies, related links, publications and event content. It is scheduled to be released officially in March. ‧interact actively with APEC economies and ESCI task leaders for real time updated information and closer partnership‧publicize the site on the occasions of APEC meetings‧set up an Operations Manual to establish the standard procedures for the task leaders and other users
