  5. We Must Create Long-Term, Sustainable and Affordable Solutions and Funding Sources

Funding/ Investment Needs Funding/ Investment Opportunities For DACs • State Wide Need: $9 billion per year due to aging infrastructure and increased incidences of contaminated water.   • State Wide DACs/High Priority: $2.5 billion • State Wide: $100 million for communities impacted by nitrate contamination • San Joaquin and Salinas Valley: $ 30 million

Creating Opportunities • Incentivizing and promoting more sustainable solutions and funding sources (Existing and New) • Proposed Water Bond • State Revolving Loan Fund • Recommendations from State Water Board Report to the Legislature on Nitrate Contamination • Regional Investments • Protecting Drinking Water Sources • Jobs
