Revelstoke Business Information Centre • Partnership between all agencies in Revelstoke involved in community economic development • Community Economic Development function of the City of Revelstoke and Area “B” of the Regional District • Community Futures Development Corporation of Revelstoke • Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce

  5. What the partnership entails: • Co-location • Share resources • Share expertise • Regular communication between agencies

  6. More than just an agreement to co-locate • City and Regional District contracts the Chamber to provide: 1.   reception and business information services 2.   tourism marketing services • City matches the membership fees of the Chamber

  7. More than just an agreement to co-locate(continued) • One of the conditions that the Chamber is co-located with the CED office • CED office and the Chamber lease office space from CFDC • City contracts with CFDC to provide administrative support

Revelstoke Community Economic Development • Coordinates and implements the Community Economic Development Strategy • Assists with business retention and expansion • Assists with business attraction and recruitment • Promotes Revelstoke as a place to live and to do business • Facilitates community economic development programs and projects • Assists business with development issues

Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce • Provides business information • Provides member benefits and discounts • Promotes and markets tourism • Operates Visitor Information Centre • Sponsors and promotes seminars, workshops, conferences and organizes retail events • Produces a Business and Service Directory • Operates a film liaison office

Community Futures Development Corporation of Revelstoke • Small Business Loans • Advisory services and information to small businesses • Provides business planning support • Delivers the Self Employment Program • Administers the Business Mentorship Program • Initiates and participates in community economic development programs & projects
