  2. FAITH “Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” (Rom. 4:3) A. From God (Rom. 10:17; Gen. 12:1) 1. Trust, assurance, conviction based upon revealed evidence (Heb. 11:1) I. THE SOURCE OF ABRAHAM’S FAITH 2. God’s promise (Heb. 11:8-9) B. No other source will do! (Gen. 16:1-5; Heb. 11:11-12) C. Is your faith based upon God’s word?

  3. FAITH And the father of circumcision to them… who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham (Rom. 4:12) A. Active / Walking: 1. God said “go” (Gen. 12:1). II. THE NATURE ABRAHAM’S FAITH 2. He went (Gen. 12:4). (Age ~60) B. Consistently Active: 1. God said “offer” (Gen. 22:1-2). 2. He went (Gen. 22:3-12). (Age ~115) C. What kind of faith do you have ? (Jms 2:21-24, 2 Cor. 5:7; Mt. 7:21-27)

  4. FAITH Multiple Times Justified By Faith! Left home (Gen. 12:1ff; Heb. 11:8ff) ~ 60 Descendants (Gen. 15:6; Ro. 4:3, 12) ~ 80 Sarah have child (Gen.18; Ro. 4:19ff) ~ 99 II. THE NATURE FAITH OF ABRAHAM Offer Isaac (Gen. 22:6, 12; Jas. 2:23) ~ 115 Abraham’s sins (Gen. 12:13f; 16:4; ). Thus, Abraham needed RENEWED Justification!

  5. FAITH Heb 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: III. THE NATURE OF OUR FAITH

FAITH Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 1Pe 1:13 ¶ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ III.   7. FAITH Re 2:10 …Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Re 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: III. THE NATURE OF OUR FAITH

FAITH 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood… 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law?of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also… III. THE NATURE OF OUR FAITH

  9. FAITH Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (Rom. 4:3) And the father of circumcision to them… who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham (Rom. 4:12) CONCLUSION: A. Is your faith based upon the Word? B. Is your faith active like Abrahams? C. Will you BELIEVE God (Rom. 6:3, 16-18)?
