  2. Welcome toSt. Peter! • We welcome you to the house of our true and living God for worship this Thirteenth Sunday after our Lord’s Pentecost. This week we begin a four week series of services under the theme, “The Believer Hears Jesus’ Warnings…” Today’s hymns, prayers and reading from the Bible emphasize how God’s Word doesn’t always bring peace. Sadly, it sometimes brings division. Christian, stand firm in the faith and run the race to heaven!

  6. Prayer before Worship • Heavenly Father, I have come to worship you. Draw near to me in your gracious Word, and assure me of your loving kindness. Curb my wandering thoughts, that with undivided attention I may hear your voice and sing your praise. Amen.

OUR COMMUNION PRACTICE • In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, we express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. • Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of St. Peter or members of the WELS/ELS. Visitors who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.
